John M. Logsdon
Dr Logsdon is the founder and currently Professor Emeritus of the Space Policy Institute of George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs. He is an original faculty member of the International Space University, and continues to lecture in ISU’s Space Studies Program. Dr Logsdon is a former member of the NASA Advisory Council, and a recipient of NASA’s Exceptional Public Service, Distinguished Public Service, and Public Service Medals. Alongside a highly distinguished academic career and publishing numerous books, he is a fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
Amongst the warm tributes and recommendations received by the IAF, we read that “Dr Logsdon’s success as one of the world’s preeminent aerospace educators is demonstrated in his students. So many of his graduates are successfully employed in the global space industry today and can be found in many high‐level governmental, military, commercial, and academic positions. His impact is immeasurable.”
The Malina Medal will be presented to Dr Logsdon in September at the IAC in Beijing.
