IAC 2016 – Host city announced

Each year the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) – in collaboration with the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) and the International Institute of Space Law (IISL) – organises an International Astronautical Congress (IAC).

The IAC is held in different countries of the world with an IAF member organisation serving as its host. In recent years the event has attracted more than 3500 participants including 2000 full paying participants, retired participants and press representatives as well as approximately 800 students and young professionals.

Letters of Intent received for hosting IAC 2016 were received from:

Guadalajara, Mexico (Mexican Space Agency)

Kiev, Ukraine (State Space Agency of Ukraine & Yuzhnoe Design Office)

 

On 27 September 2013 at the 64th IAC in Beijing, China, the IAF General Assembly convened and voted for Guadalajara, Mexico, to be the host city for IAC 2016.
