IAC 2024 with Record-High Abstract Submissions and Acceptance

Anticipation building for a record-breaking IAC 2024!

As we look ahead to the upcoming IAC in Milan, the excitement is palpable. With record-high abstract submission and acceptance rates, anticipation is building for the 75th International Astronautical Congress! The International Astronautical Federation’s continued ability to captivate and engage new space and non-space actors is a testament to its enduring appeal as the world’s leading space advocacy body.

High quality means more accepted abstracts

Impressively, a record high result of nearly 7000 abstract submissions from 106 countries has surpassed all expectations. Not only did the number of submissions break records, but the acceptance rate is also higher than usual.

The International Programme Committee (IPC) reviewed all abstract submissions during the IAF Spring Meetings last March, out of which 2265 have been selected as oral presentations, 1857 have been selected as interactive presentations and 509 abstracts have been retained as back-up.

The ranking of top five countries for abstract acceptance includes: the Host Country - Italy with 773 selected abstracts, USA – 595 selected abstracts, China - 329 selected abstracts, Germany – 276 selected abstracts and India with 234 selected abstracts.

Congratulations on the acceptance of your abstract - you may begin making your congress plans!

Additional Technical and Interactive Presentation sessions

With the unprecedented surge of submissions, we are incredibly grateful to the Members of the International Programme Committee (IPC) for skillfully managing the selection of abstracts for the Technical Programme!

We are also deeply indebted to our IAC 2024 Host, AIDAA, and Co-Hosts, ASI, and Leonardo, for providing us with flexible ways of accommodating a high number of outstanding abstracts. As a result, we have been able to add five additional Technical Sessions leading to a record number of 198 sessions for oral presentations. The number of IP sessions has doubled, shaping the IP for Milan into five distinct sessions (one on each day of the congress) and offering a state-of-the-art infrastructure with 90 digital screens.

IAC 2024 will offer unparalleled exposure for your research, unique networking opportunities, and access to the most influential leaders across the space sector.

Abstract submitters should have now received confirmation of their presentation. We would like to thank all authors for their contributions.

If you have not received anything, please check your SPAM/Junk folders and if necessary, contact us at support@iafastro.org

Presenting authors must register by the 6th of September deadline.

We look forward to welcoming you to the stunning city of Milan! Everything is set up for an astonishing success here!
