24th IAA Humans in Space Symposium

The 24th International Astronautical Association (IAA) Symposium “Humans in Space” took place in Montecatini, Italy, bringing together astronauts, scientists, engineers, and researchers. Organized under the coordination of the Italian Space Agency (ASI), the event served as a scientific forum dedicated to advancing international dialogue on the future of human spaceflight.

At the opening of the symposium, IAF President Gabriella Arrigo, also Director of International Affairs at the Italian Space Agency (ASI), delivered a welcome address to the international delegates. In her remarks, she highlighted the importance of strengthening global cooperation in human space exploration and emphasized that the future of space is fundamentally human-centered.

During the symposium, the following key topics were discussed: space medicine, life in microgravity, long-duration missions, human health and psychology in space, life support systems, Mars exploration, and future space habitats.
