Senegal Space Week 2026

The International Astronautical Federation (IAF) participated in the second edition of Senegal Space Week, held in Dakar, Senegal, from 19 to 22 May 2026. Organized by the Senegalese Space Studies Agency (ASES), the event brought together representatives from government, academia, industry, and the international space community to discuss the development of the space sector in Senegal and across Africa.

As part of the opening ceremony, IAF Executive Director Christian Feichtinger delivered a pre-recorded welcome address on behalf of the Federation. In his message, he congratulated the organizers on the successful continuation of Senegal Space Week and recognized Senegal's growing engagement in space activities and its increasing role within the African and global space communities.

The address highlighted the IAF's commitment to international cooperation and space diplomacy, emphasizing the Federation's mission of "Connecting @ll Space People." Christian Feichtinger also underlined the importance of collaboration, inclusivity, and knowledge exchange in advancing the peaceful use of outer space and fostering sustainable development through space technologies.

The IAF's participation in Senegal Space Week 2026 reflects the Federation's continued support for emerging space nations and its engagement with the rapidly expanding African space ecosystem.
