European Space Agency (ESA)Mars Exploration Group Chief Engineer

Dr. Albert Haldemann has international experience in space programme implementation, management and operations from work on five of the nine spacecraft attempting to land on Mars since 1997 (three successful). At ESA he oversees ExoMars integration and testing, cooperating with Russian partners, taking lessons from Schiaparelli in 2016, to ensure a 2023 success for the Rosalind Franklin rover. Albert is ESA’s Mars Exploration Group Chief Engineer supporting ESA’s partnership with NASA for Mars Sample Return.

Albert is a space exploration enthusiast, convinced that what humans learn getting to Mars, and on Mars, is a mirror to examine our existence on Earth.
