Alessandro Bartoloni

Sapienza University of RomeResearcher, Italian Institute of Nuclear Physics

Alessandro Bartoloni is a researcher at the Italian Institute of Nuclear Physics, INFN Roma Sapienza Division, and a member of the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer collaboration. His work connects experimental particle and astroparticle physics, space radiation science, and space radiobiology. He has contributed to large international research infrastructures, including CERN/CMS and AMS on the International Space Station, and coordinates activities that link cosmic-ray measurements, radiation-environment characterisation, Monte Carlo modelling, and biological risk assessment for future exploration missions. He has also been active in education and outreach, including university teaching at Sapienza University of Rome and initiatives related to the Moon Village Association and space summer school programmes. During the session, he will provide insight into the processes required to make instruments radiation-hard and space-adapted, as well as into radiation dosimetry considerations for astronauts.
