Arnaud Carlier is Head of Department” Telecom, Ground Stations and Alert Systems” in the Digital solutions, ground segments and operations Directorate in CNES (French Space Agency – Toulouse Space Center).

He has been tracking almost everything that can be tracked in space. He started his career in 1992 as Electronic Engineer in CNES Stratospheric balloon activities. In 1996, he moved for the first time in Kourou as Localisation Manager for Ariane 4 and 5 launches at the Guyana Space Center (CNES/CSG), European Spaceport. From 2002 to 2005, he worked as head of Satellites Ground Stations Division at the Toulouse Space Center. Then, he came back in French Guyana, as Deputy head of Department for Operations and Technical facilities (CNES/CSG), preparing Soyouz and Vega first launches while managing monthly Ariane 5 launches. In 2011, he moved for 3 years to Chile, working for European Southern Observatory as Head of Engineering Department at The Very Large Telescope.

Arnaud holds an MSc in Electronics from Civil Aviation National School (ENAC/Toulouse)
