Ben Greenhagen

Ben Greenhagen is a planetary scientist specializing in thermal emission spectroscopy from planetary surfaces. He uses remote sensing, laboratory experiments, and models to study the composition and physical structure of solid surfaces and what those properties can tell us about the formation and evolution of their parent bodies. Ben helps develop remote sensing instrumentation and has been involved in a number of proposals for missions and instruments to study a broad range of planetary bodies in the inner and outer solar systems. Ben is principal investigator of the LAFORGE multispectral radiometer that will explore the lunar south pole on the CSA Lunar Rover Mission later this decade, is the deputy principal investigator of the Diviner Lunar Radiometer onboard the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, and serves as a co-investigator on numerous lunar and planetary missions. Ben is also the Chair of the Lunar Exploration Analysis Group (LEAG), which collects and prioritizes community feedback on behalf of NASA.
