Betsy CONGDON

Elizabeth “Betsy” Congdon graduated from Stanford University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. She received a M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. She has worked at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) for 15 years in roles as the Lead Engineer for the Parker Solar Probe Thermal Protection System, Mechanical Lead Engineer for the Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) mission and the Flight System Mechanical Systems Engineer for the Dragonfly mission. Additionally, she is the Deputy Chief Technologist for APL’s Space Exploration Sector. She is passionate about space exploration particularly materials and mechanical systems in extreme environments.
