The BBC’s global audience is currently an estimated 320 million people per week, and those audiences depend on reliable and interference-free delivery of radio, television and on-line services. BBC World Service currently produces multi-platform content in 29 languages. All broadcasting content is distributed globally by satellite to partners and for transmission from BBC World Service’s network of high power and low power transmitters. Services also include Direct to Home satellite broadcasting: BBC Arabic TV and BBC Persian TV.

Cath has been attending meetings at the ITU since 2006 both as a sector member and as a member of the UK.
