Christianna Taylor

National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Space Special Interest Group

Dr. Christianna Taylor started Intelligent space earlier this year after attending Singularity University as a Global Impact Challenge winner. There she learned about exponential technology to positively affect 1 billion people. Her work in AI started in graduate school at the Georgia Institute of Technology where she gained her PhD in Aerospace Engineering for her work on higher fidelity for technology portfolio development. During this time, she also went to the Mars Desert Research Station (MDRS) where she served as the crew engineer. Currently she works with the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Space Special Interest Group where she hopes to bring a NSBE crew back to the MDRS habitat in the year 2020.

Her focus has brought her to work at the NASA Foundry in the Planetary Summer Science School on the Vulcan mission where she served as the Program Manager. She was a Global Scholar with the Kauffman Foundation where she first learned about business applications. Previously she worked as a concurrent engineer abroad in Moscow Russia, as a government contractor on small satellites, at NASA JPL as a GSRP Fellow and student intern, and served on the AIAA Los Angeles-Las Vegas Chapter as the Event coordinator. When she’s not working at the intersection of space and AI, she enjoys traveling, reading, and finding interesting challenges. Her earliest memory of space is that of watching Haley’s comet with her Mom; her latest is probably watching Star Trek and analyzing the science behind it while researching is that possible.
