Conny HANSEL

Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and Toulouse School of Architecture (ENSA) • PhD Student in Urban Design

Conny Hansel, M.Sc. is an architect and urban designer between practice and research, between France and Germany. In parallel to her practical work in the Parisian office ‘uapS’ she is PhD student in urban design in co-supervision at the Institute for Urban and Landscape Design IESL of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany and the ‘Laboratoire de Recherche en Architecture’ (LRA) - the research department of the Toulouse School of Architecture (ENSA) since 2021. The center of her research “More space through time” is the analysis of diverse phenomena of ‘saturation’ for urban dwellers – in particular the impact of temporal factors on the perceived quality of life in a given neighborhood. She is pleading for the further implementation of a spatio-temporal and rhythmic approach for understanding and developing the city and its urban daily life.
