Fernanda Lins Leal Uchôa de Lima

Brazilian Space Agency (AEB)Space Application Officer

Born in 1982, Fernanda holds a bachelor’s degree in Cartographic Engineering from the Military Institute of Engineering, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and a master’s degree in Geographic Information System from the University of Porto, Portugal. She is now attending a long-term course in Planning and Strategies of Development at the Brazilian National School of Public Administration. She worked for Brazilian Army as an engineer (2006-2012) and between 2010 and 2012 she held a professorship in Geospatial Sciences at the Military Institute of Engineering. She has also worked at the Institute of Land and Cartography in Rio de Janeiro (2012-2013) and at the Ministry of Planning, Development and Management in Brasilia (2013-2016). She currently works in the Directorate of Space Policy and Strategic Investments at the Brazilian Space Agency where she is mainly in charge of the field of space applications. She has implemented a new process at AEB to continuously identify and analyze the users community needs related to the Brazilian Space Program and international agreements. She is also part of the BRICS Remote Sensing Satellite Constellation team and member of the CBERS (China-Brazil Earth Resources Satellite) Program work group.
