"Talent and skills are the prerequisites for success, but the real secret to achieving them is having the courage to always pursue your dreams and passions"

Francesco CUPERTINO is the youngest rector to date at the helm of the Polytechnic of Bari. Elected in the summer of 2019, he has a six-year term. Graduated in Electrical Engineering in 1997, then PhD, researcher and associate professor; since 2016 he has been full professor of Converters, Machines and Electric Drives: his entire academic career, as a student and as a teacher, has taken place at the Polytechnic, but he collaborates assiduously with researchers from prestigious Italian universities such as the Polytechnic of Turin and, abroad, the University of Nottingham, in the United Kingdom. In collaboration with his research group, he is the author of over 130 scientific publications. As scientific director, he managed the start-up and consolidation phases of the most important public-private research laboratories, which have characterized the last years of the third mission policy of the Polytechnic, increasingly driven by collaboration with companies, for the development of the territory
