Born in Argentina. BSc in Physics UNT-Argentina, PhD in Sciences USP-Brazil, Posdocs in USP (Brazil), Cambridge (UK) and Leeds (UK). Tutored 27 PhD, MSc and Diploma thesis and 8 postdocs. Author of 252 articles in refereed journals with more than 27 thousand citations. At present Prof. at Institute of Nuclear Sciences of UNAM (Mexico), Head of the Space Instrumentation Laboratory, LINX, which he created in 2009. He led the Mexican participation in various scientific stratospheric and space instruments under CNES, NASA, ASI and ROSCOSMOS. Leader of NanoConnect2 and NanoSWAI satellites and the COLMENA lunar project, first mission Colmena- 1 launched on January 2024 (Peregrine). Elected member of the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA), Vice chair Comm. 1 IAA. Member of the SWG of ISECG. Chair of Space Astrophysics Technical Committee (SATC) and Vicechair of the Space Universities Administrative Committee (SUAC) of the IAF. Member of the ATLAC Mexican delegation. Awards: 2022 Fernando Alba Medal for Experimental Physics (Mexico); 2023 Gold Eagle Medal for Global Leaders; 2024 Medal of Scientific Excellence; PhD Honoris Causa by the Hispanic World Writers Union (UHE), the Latin American Academy of Modern Literature, the World Academy of Literature, History, Art and Culture and the Unity of Nations Action for Climate Change Council (UNACCC) among others.
