Appointed as the Senior Chief Officer of Earth Observation Missions in April 2024, responsible for administrating all JAXA Earth observation missions. Currently serves as the chair of the Strategic Implementation Team (SIT) for the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS).

Joined NASDA (now part of JAXA) in 1991. Contributed to the development of multiple satellite missions, incluing both Earth observation and space science domains (ADEOS-II, SELENE and BepiColombo). After serving as the head of the Space Science Program, became the project manager for the X-ray Imaging and Spectroscopy Mission (XRISM).

Earned master's degree in Electrical and Communications Engineering, specializing in Radio Communication Engineering, from Tohoku University, and a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from Keio University.
