Jean MARÉCHAL

Jean Maréchal is Navigation Programme Manager in CNES, the French Space Agency.

He graduated from Telecom Paris engineering school in 1991 and has been involved in satellite navigation at CNES and the European Commission for 18 years.

In 2005, at the very beginning of EGNOS system deployment, he was system performance manager for the EGNOS operator, participating in the implementation of the first European safety-of-life satellite-based service.

From 2011 to 2015, he worked for the European Commission in the Galileo Programme team, coordinating the Galileo mission definition and the Galileo system implementation with the European Space Agency.

Back in CNES in 2015, he was responsible of GNSS performance monitoring activities. He set up a large consortium of European member-states which has provided to GSA until now continuous and independent monitoring results of Galileo and EGNOS service performance.

Since 2018, he is CNES Navigation Programme Manager, particularly involved in the French national Galileo coordination and in the French delegation to the European GNSS programme boards.
