Koji TERADA

TERADA Koji is Vice President of Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).

He is currently responsible for Space Technology Directorate I and II and Tsukuba Space Center.

He joined National Space Development Agency of Japan (NASDA) in 1985 and he mainly had been involved in the development of engineering test satellites. From 1994 to 1997, he worked in NASDA’s Liaison Office in Bonn. Formerly, he was the Project Manager of Quasi-Zenith Satellite System from 2007-2011 and also took responsibility for promoting applications of Earth observation satellites and the development of the Engineering Test Satellite VIII (Kiku No. 8). He has held various management posts in JAXA including Public Affairs, Strategic Planning and Management, Procurement.

Mr. Terada graduated from the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Tokyo in 1985.
