Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA)Associate Senior Administrator Integration and Management Office Space Exploration Center

Mika Ochiai is presently working at the Integration and Management Office of JAXA Space Exploration Center (JSEC), which was newly established within JAXA in 2018. The above center was mainly established to integrate JAXA’s capabilities and expertise to promote its missions to the Moon and Mars. In reference to her duties, she actively coordinates the international affairs of JAXA’s exploration missions, and engages in industry and public affairs. Previously, she was involved in organizing the 2nd International Space Exploration Forum (ISEF2), which gathered senior representatives from over 40 nations and international organizations in March 2018, Tokyo.

From 2011 to 2014, she worked at the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) as an expert to implement the United Nations Human Space Technology Initiative (HSTI). Since joining the agency, she gained experiences in diverse areas, including space transportation, satellite applications, human space flight and ISS Kibo Utilization. She received several JAXA Presidential Awards in recognition of her exemplary achievements in JAXA’s global initiatives. She has a Bachelor of Law, and obtained Project Management Professional in January 2020.
