Dr. Nina Merkle received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Mathematics from the University of Applied Science Regensburg, Germany, in 2011 and 2013, respectively. In 2018 she received the PhD degree in Computer Science from the University of Osnabrück, Germany. Since 2014 she is working as research associate with the Remote Sensing Technology Institute (IMF) of the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany. Her current research interests include the automatic understanding of aerial and satellite images and the fusion of multi-sensor data through depth learning approaches for different applications in the fields of traffic and disaster management and humanitarian relief.
