Pier Domenico Resta

Pier Domenico Resta has been working in the space systems development and operations domain since 1991. He started his career in major Italian industry as young engineer participating to the COLUMBUS Attached Pressurized Module development, then he moved to the development of telecommunication and Earth Observation satellites systems developing and in-depth knowledge of satellite system’s engineering. In 2002 he moved to the space transportation and at the same time he left industry to join Italian and finally the European Space Agency. He plaid a major role for the development and the insertion into operations of the VEGA Small Launcher, the he undertook the responsibility of the development of the Ariane 5 Mid-life Evolution and Ariane 6 Common Upper Stage to finally take the responsibility of the Ariane 6 Launch System that he contributed to lead to its successful Inaugural Flight.
