Rashad Nabiyev

Rashad Nabiyev was appointed Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan in January 2021 by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Before since January 2011 he was Chairman of Azercosmos, the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer. In this role, R. Nabiyev oversaw the overall management of the company. Before his appointment as CEO of Azercosmos, R. Nabiyev worked as the Head of Finance, Accounting and Economic Analysis Department at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2004-2011. In 2002-2004, he worked at the Market Operations Department of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In 1997-2000, he worked at the Information Resources and Technologies Center and International Relations Department at the President’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Mr. Nabiyev holds an MS in Economics from Eastern Carolina University, USA where he studied during 2000-2002, and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Public Administration from Public Administration Academy under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, where he studied in the years of 1994-2000. He continued his education at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University where he completed the program for Senior Executives in Public Financial Management in the year 2006.
