Ray O. Johnson, a global executive focused on business, innovation, and diversity, is the Senior Vice-President and Chief Technology Officer of the Lockheed Martin Corporation. As Officer of the corporation and member of the executive leadership team, Johnson guides the Lockheed Martin Corporation’s technology vision and provides corporate leadership in the strategic areas of technology and engineering, which include more than 62,000 people working on more than 4,000 programmes that provide some of the nation’s most vital security systems. He has a proven track record in managing large P&L organisations, strategic planning, programme development, programme management, and venture capital funding.

Johnson currently serves as a member of the Sandia Corporation, National Math and Science Initiative, and Hispanic College Fund Boards of Directors. He is a member of the Governing Board of the Indo-US Science and Technology Forum and a sponsor of the DST-Lockheed Martin India Innovation Growth Program. He is on the Board of Directors of the Northern Virginia Technology Council and the Virginia Center for Innovative Technology.

He is also a member of the Virginia Innovation and Entrepreneurship Investment Authority. He is a member of the Board of Visitors for the A. James Clark School of Engineering at the University of Maryland, on the Dean’s Advisory Council for the College of Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University, and a member of the Board of Affiliates of the Rice University Professional Science Master’s Programme. Johnson is a member of the Georgia Tech Advisory Board and the West Point Department of Systems Engineering Board of Advisors. He is also the chairman of the USA Science and Engineering Festival’s Advisory Board.

He is a Full Academician of the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA), a Fellow of the International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE), the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

He is a member of Eta Kappa Nu, Tau Beta Pi, and Phi Kappa Phi. Johnson also chairs the US Council on Competitiveness Technology Leadership and Strategy Initiative.

Johnson holds B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering.
