Career diplomat of the Ecuadorian Foreign Service with more than 20 years of experience in the field of multilateral diplomacy with emphasis on the fields of security and defense, disarmament and non-proliferation and peacekeeping. Currently, is the Director of Regional Integration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She has served in the Permanent Mission of Ecuador to the United Nations in New York and was part of the negotiating team for the United Nations Convention for the Protection of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the definition of the Crime of Aggression of the Statute of Rome. She also served at the Permanent Mission to International Organizations in Vienna, where she represented Ecuador to the United Nations Office for Space Affairs. She has been served as part of Ecuador's negotiating team for the Treaty for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) and recently for the Constitutive Agreement of the Latin American and Caribbean Space Agency (ALCE) She is a lawyer and has a master's degree in International Relations. She has several publications on regional security and defense issues, and mutual confidence-building measures.
