Success in Space Through Security, Investment, and Sustainability
Day: Thursday 5 October
Time: 14:50 - 15:35 AZT (GMT+4)
Room: Heydar Aliyev Centre (HAC) Auditorium
The IAF has undertaken a three-pronged initiative to address security, investment, and sustainability in its programs and activities. President Clay Mowry has shaped this agenda for the IAF, and will moderate a panel that explores these three forces that are shaping the future of space: the surge of private and public investment in space, space as a key element of geopolitics and particularly global security, and the relevance of sustainability to space, from managing climate to protecting the viability of the space environment.
Panelists will discuss the critical interaction among investment, security, and sustainability:
National security users seeking to leverage new commercial capabilities enabled by investment
Sustainable space environment contributing to national security mission outcomes
Investment in debris remediation technologies supporting sustainability
Shared elements of industrial base across commercial and national security applications and how they can be shaped to drive more sustainable outcomes
