International Space Forum at Ministerial Level 2026

8th International Space Forum at Ministerial Level 2026 - The Roman Chapter (ISF 2026)
“The Gate to Sky: Space for Peace”

Ten years after the first International Space Forum, held in Trento (Italy) in 2016, co-organized by the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) and the Italian Space Agency (ASI) at Ministerial level, the International Space Forum (ISF) returns to Italy, this time, to Rome. The Forum will provide an opportunity to reflect on the achievements of the past decade and to launch a new phase of dialogue on the role of Space as a driver of international cooperation and peace.

The Italian Space Agency (ASI) and the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) are honoured to formally invite you to the 8th International Space Forum at Ministerial Level – The Roman Chapter (ISF 2026). This high-level gathering will take place on 23rd November 2026 at the historic Palazzo della Cancelleria – a distinguished Vatican building in the heart of Rome.

Participation in the Forum is extended, with particular attention, to Ministers and Authorities responsible for space activities, research, science, technology, and education, as well as Heads of space agencies worldwide. Delegates representing key non-governmental organizations will also join the Forum as observers.

Guided by the theme “The Gate to the Sky: Space for Peace”, ISF 2026 will examine how space can serve as a gateway to peace, cooperation and the shared future of humankind, fostering high-level dialogue on sustainable development and international cooperation.

To translate these objectives into concrete discussions, the Forum will be structured around three thematic sessions, each introduced by a keynote speaker:

  • The Health of Our Planet: Leveraging space capabilities to safeguard Earth, strengthen climate resilience, and promote environmental stewardship.
  • Space Dialogue for the Well-Being of Humanity: Advancing international cooperation through space diplomacy, scientific collaboration, and the peaceful use of outer space for the benefit of all.
  • Governance, Awareness, Responsibility: A New Space Era for the Future: Shaping an inclusive and responsible framework for space governance that fosters trust, ethical leadership, and lasting peace across generations.

At the end of the Forum, the delegations will endorse a final declaration, “The Rome Page”, detailing the view of the participating countries on their needs, perspectives, and recommendations. The Rome Page will be added to the Trento Space Statement (first ISF in 2016), to the Nairobi Page (ISF 2017), the Buenos Aires Page (ISF 2018), the Reggio Calabria Page (ISF 2019), the Panama City Page (ISF 2023), the Manama Page (ISF 2024), and the Manila Page (ISF 2025), continuing a record of the Forum's outcomes and the participating delegations' shared priorities for advancing the use of space for sustainable development.

The event is upon invitation only.
