The Chinese Society of Astronautics (CSA) was founded in October 1979 and formally registered in Beijing, China. It is a non-governmental and non-profit academic organisation. CSA has 47 technical committees, 220 institutional members and more than 100,000 individual members. CSA is aimed to promote the innovation, development and popularization of space science and technology by carrying out academic activities, space education, talent cultivation, publications, think tank services and international cooperation.
