Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) is the sole aerospace system manufacturer in Republic of Korea, established in 1999 to strategically foster the nation’s aerospace industry as a driver of future high-technology and high-value growth.
Since its founding, KAI has led the advancement of Korea’s aerospace sector by developing indigenous aircraft, helicopters, satellites, and launch vehicle technologies. It has made significant contributions to the evolution of Korea’s satellite programs, beginning with the localization of key components for KOMPSAT-1(Korea Multipurpose Satellite) and gradually expanding its development scope. Today, KAI serves as the prime contractor for major government satellite such as CAS500(Compact Advanced Satellite) series, and small SAR satellite. KAI has secured a full range of small, medium, and large-class satellite platforms to support diverse missions. In addition, KAI is expanding into Low Earth Orbit (LEO) 6G communication satellite systems to meet growing global connectivity demands and is actively exploring space mobility solutions.
As Korea’s representative aerospace system integrator, the challenge of KAI for opening a new era is ongoing, in alignment with its vision to become one of the World’s top 7 aerospace companies by 2050.
