SEMECCEL Cité de l'Espace

SEMECCEL is the Public Private Partnership operating Cité de l’espace since 1997. Cité de l’espace is the main Science Centre in Europe dedicated to space and astronomy, with 420 000 visitors every year. It is located at the heart of Toulouse (France), the European capital of space. Important stakeholders of the field like Airbus Defence and Space, Thales Alenia Space, CNES and Meteo France are board members and major supporters of the institution. Advocating for the human and cultural dimension of space, sharing advances in space and astronomy as widely as possible, inciting people to learn more, inspiring vocations, disseminating news: such are the roles of Cité de l’espace.

SEMECCEL also operates since 2018 an interpretation centre in Toulouse dedicated to the history of Aéropostale and air mail : L’Envol des Pionniers. Semeccel is involved since 2024, on behalf of CNES, in the operations of CNES newly refurbished space museum within the European Space Port (Kourou, French Guiana): Guyaspace Expérience.
