Azzedine Oussedik

Azzedine Oussedik is the General Director of the Algerian Space Agency (ASAL). Dr Oussedik has previously worked as a Director of the National Center of Space Techniques (CNTS) and Director of the Research Laboratory in Remote Sensing at the New Energies Authority (Commissariat aux Energies Nouvelles). His responsibilities as the general director have led to discoveries which include processing of Satellite digital images, thematic modelling and applications by remote sensing. He has also been responsible for the supervision of several graduation and post-graduation works in the field of space technologies and applications. Dr Oussedik has authored and co-authored many publications and communications. He committed and Contributed to the setting-up of space programs: Alsat-1 and Alsat-2 and conduct of the Algerian Space Program 2020. He has been a Member of the National Council for remote sensing, he later on became a Member of the National Council for Geographical Information (CNIG) to this day. In his career path, he became a member of a number of entities which include the Coordination and University Development Council of Oran University, the Governing Board of Algeria Telecom, the Scientific Council of the African Regional Centre for Space Science and Technology (CRASTE-LF), affiliated to the United Nations and the Governing Board of the African Regional Centre for Space Science and Technology (CRASTE-LF), affiliated to the United Nations. Dr Oussedik was the Chairman of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUSO). He is well recognised in his field where he was placed as the President of the Standing Committee ‘Geographical Information System and Standardization’ (CNIG) for many years.   Dr Oussedik’s academic background includes a Baccalaureate in Mathematics, State Engineer in Electronics, National Polytechnic School of El-Harrach/Algiers (Algeria). He also possesses a Master’s Degree in Remote Sensing.
