4iG Space and Defence Technologies is Hungary’s first privately-owned large enterprise making significant advancements in the space and defence sectors. Covering the entire value chain, we focus our activities on the satellite, drone, antidrone, defence digitalization and data processing solutions and services.

Our core expertise is in vertical integration which includes satellite systems, ground segments, space mission operations, geodata processing, satellite communications, earth observation and the development of next-generation space technologies.

4iG Space and Defence Technologies is focusing on cutting-edge R&D, advanced manufacturing and sophisticated integration capabilities, which drives us to become a key Hungarian integrator both in the region and across Europe. By leveraging synergies from 4iG Group’s strengths in IT system integration and telecommunications, we maximize our ability to innovate and lead in the rapidly evolving space domain.

With the expertise of our portfolio companies, we are dedicated to building a connected ecosystem of space and defence and establishing the state-of-the-art REMTECH Space Technology Center. The REMTECH factory, which will be capable of manufacturing, assembling, integrating and testing satellites weighing up to 400 kilograms, will use modular technology, unique in Europe. The greenfield development will be equipped with innovative and state-of-the-art technology solutions in line with aerospace standards. The 4,000 square metre manufacturing centre will include a 1,500 square metre specialist laboratory with ISO8 and ISO5 certified clean room technology. The facility will also have house vibration, shock, mechanical, thermo-vacuum, climatic, EMC/EMI and acoustic testing systems.

4iG Space and Defence Technologies has launched the HUSAT programme, the largest privately initiated and funded satellite programme in the region. Its objective is to launch one geostationary telecommunications satellite (HUGEO) and eight additional low earth orbiting high-resolution VHR Earth observation satellites (HULEO) by 2032 and to operate and utilise them over their lifetime. The HULEO constellation will include six electro-optical (HUEOP) and two synthetic aperture radar (HUSAR) satellites. The HUGEO and the first HUEOP satellite could be operational by the end of 2028, enabling the launch of a first-party Earth Observation and Communication service.

By operating its own ground stations, the company will manage and operate the satellites, with the primary objective of selling communications capacity and Earth Observation data. The in-house infrastructure, together with systems integration and technological expertise, will enable the company to manage the entire process in-house and to provide an End-To-End Earth Observation and satellite Communications service through its vertically integrated infrastructure.
