In carrying out the duties and functions of National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) in the field of Space Administration, the Head of BRIN establishes the Secretariat of the Indonesian Space Agency (INASA) with the following tasks and roles are:

  1. as Liaison Officer and National Focal Point of Indonesia in space activities and participation of Indonesia at international space fora as well as intergovernmental and nongovernmental space organizations;

  2. to coordinate all National Contact Points of international space fora as well as intergovernmental and nongovernmental space organizations in which Indonesia has become the member;

  3. to coordinate active participation of Indonesia as node in international space organizations related to space-based disaster management;

  4. to prepare Indonesia policy paper to be presented at the meetings of international space fora as well as intergovernmental and nongovernmental space organizations, and multilateral space cooperation mandated by BRIN;

  5. to prepare the action plan activities committed by Indonesia as the follow up of annual meetings, conferences, and scientific fora of intergovernmental and nongovernmental space related fora and organizations;

  6. to conduct activities and administration related to space object registration authority of Indonesia and space falling object management.
