IAC 2026 Abstract Selection Results

A New Benchmark for Diversity, Innovation and Global Cooperation

The World Needs More Space, and IAC 2026 is uniting global voices on an unprecedented scale, with record-breaking abstracts results and country participation driving this powerful vision forward.

The selection results are in, and this year’s Call for Abstracts marks an extraordinary milestone for the 77th International Astronautical Congress, to be held on 5-9 October in Antalya, Türkiye.

An astounding 8330 abstracts poured in from 108 countries, an all-time record both in numbers and in geographic reach in IAC history. After thoughtful review by the International Programme Committee (IPC) at the IAF Spring Meetings last march, 4619 abstracts have been selected for IAC 2026, comprising 4077 accepted and 542 strong back-ups - representing a highly competitive acceptance rate of 55.45%, only testifying to the growing selectiveness and vigor behind each year’s monumental gathering.

All accepted presenters have been matched across a record-breaking 204 technical sessions, plus daily large-scale Interactive Presentations Sessions.

Dive deeper into the stage: over 61% of selected presentations will be featured in the Oral format, with 38% to be delivered as Interactive Presentations.

These numbers owe everything to the excellence and energy emanating from every corner of the globe. Türkiye, the Host Country, leads with 674 accepted abstracts, followed by the United States (383), China (334), Italy (330), Azerbaijan (211), Germany (202), the United Kingdom (183), Japan (172), Russian Federation (123), France (109), India and Canada ex-aequo (87).

Each contributor brings its own perspective, enriching a vital thread to a shared framework of solutions addressing both every day and complex global space challenges.

Innovation is flourishing - emerging from both well-established hubs and new ecosystems - capturing the very essence of the IAC community in action.
