International Cooperation for Technology Scaling
Day: Monday 5 October
Time: 17:40 - 18:25
Location:
Using international cooperation to strengthen sovereign capability, grow commercial opportunities, and generate economic benefits despite having more limited domestic markets and resources than major space powers.
Using the UK as a case study, the panel will examine practical and transferable approaches to accelerating technology development, increasing exports, and building trusted international partnerships while retaining domestic capability and value. Discussion will cover a range of cooperation models, including licensing partnerships, agency-to-agency engagement to address export control and assurance challenges, and collaborations beyond traditional ESA frameworks with non-ESA nations. The session will also highlight the role standards-based cooperation through organisations such as ISO, ECSS and CCSDS in reducing barriers to trade, improving interoperability, and enabling companies to access multiple global markets
