Alina Vizireanu

Alina Vizireanu is a well-established professional in the GIS industry, passionate advocate for space exploration and people empowerment. An alumna of the International Space University, the University of Bucharest and member of the IAF Space Education Committee, she serves as the Geospatial Manager at Milton Keynes City Council in the UK, bringing her experience in Space Downstream, Earth Observation, and GIS projects across the public and R&D sectors. Additionally, she founded AVINTERRA focusing on capacity-building and geospatial skills development in Africa, and co-founded AIM Space in Romania, where the inspiring team transforms Earth Observation data into actionable insights for the energetic sector. Beyond her professional work, Alina is committed to mentoring young people and contributed extensively to the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) through her role as the Membership Manager. Recognised as an Emerging Space Leader by the IAF, Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and Leadership Awardee by the SGAC, she actively participates in various space- and education-related organisations internationally, notably the British Cartographic Society, Romanian Space Initiative (ROSPIN), Space Sciences & Engineering Foundation as AI & GIS teacher for the residential program, 4wardFutures UK, Romanian Science Festival and the Female Empowerment Network. As an advocate for space education, she takes great honour in creating partnerships inspiring the next generation of leaders for global progress.
