Luisella Giulicchi is Project Manager at European Space Agency (ESA), Netherlands, for the Artemis Lunar Gateway Project (the future space station orbiting around the Moon) developed in cooperation with NASA, the Japanese Space Agency (JAXA), the UAE Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, and the Canadian Space Agency (CSA). Previously, for over a decade, she was System Manager for the Copernicus Sentinel-6 mission: monitoring sea level change. Project of the European Commission in cooperation with ESA, EUMETSAT, NASA, French Space Agency CNES and NOAA. Copernicus is the largest operational Earth observation program from Space to date in the world, funded by ESA and the European Commission.*

After being a researcher at CERN (European Particle Physics Laboratory), Geneva, Switzerland, she joined ESA more than twenty-five years ago covering technical and programmatic management positions for: Bepi Colombo, scientific mission for the study of Mercury; SMART-1, the first European lunar mission; LISA Pathfinder, measuring gravitational waves; Copernicus Sentinel-1, Earth observation and environmental monitoring by radar images.

Her numerous achievements have been recognized with the titles of Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society Fellow. She is the author of numerous scientific and technical articles, the editor of various scientific publications and journals, and a speaker at numerous events.

AIAA Board of Directors member for ten years and former AIAA Board of Trustees. Women in Aerospace Europe President: association dedicated to the promotion of gender diversity and inclusion.
