Rodion Immel is the Regulatory Matters and International Organizations Liaison Manager at the Intersputnik International Organization of Space Communications, where he focuses on satellite communications regulation, spectrum and orbit resource management, and international cooperation.
His academic background combines legal, technical, and AI-focused education, enabling him to work at the intersection of regulatory frameworks, space systems engineering, and emerging digital technologies.
Rodion has been involved in several international space projects, including the Spectrum-RG deep-space observatory, the ExoMars 2016 mission operated by the European Space Agency, and the Venera-D Venus exploration initiative. Following his mission-level experience, his professional activities have increasingly focused on regulatory and governance aspects of space operations.
He represents Intersputnik in ITU-R Working Party 4A and is responsible for coordinating and preparing the Organization’s agreed positions on World Radiocommunication Conference agenda items. In parallel, he is engaged in ITU-D activities related to regional development and youth engagement.
Rodion regularly contributes to training seminars and conferences and is actively involved in capacity-building through the Youth Far Beyond Borders project, supporting young professionals’ participation in international space and ICT forums.
