Eytan Stibbe

Rakia Mission • AX-1 Astronaut

In April 2022, Eytan Stibbe participated in the historic Ax-1 mission to the International Space Station alongside Michael López-Alegría, Larry Connor, and Mark Pathy. In preparation for the mission, he assembled the Rakia Mission team, a collaborative effort of Israel’s public and private sectors, including educators, students, scientists, and artists, with the vision that space is for all. Rakia was the first space mission to incorporate impact measurement and reporting across all its activities.

Following his return, Eytan established “Rakia” as a public benefit company dedicated to advancing Israel’s space sector through international and local partnerships, with a particular focus on human spaceflight.

With over 30 years of experience in impact investing, Eytan is a founding partner of Vital Capital investment fund which aims to improve the situation of underprivileged populations in developing countries. Vital fund specializes in sectors such as finance, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and community development.

In 2025, Eytan was appointed Chancellor of the International Space University, recognized for his contributions as an astronaut, entrepreneur, philanthropist and advocate for space accessibility.

Eytan lives in Israel with his family, serves on the boards of several universities and NGOs and is a member of the World Economic Forum.
