Col. Mehmet Serhan YILDIZ, the current Space Commander of the Turkish Air Force, is with an extensive career spanning logistics, space systems management, and international diplomacy. Since graduating from the Turkish Air Force Academy in 2003, Col. Yıldız has developed a diverse expertise profile, holding positions such as Space Systems Project Management Section Chief at the Turkish Air Force and Military Attaché Assistant in Baku. His technical and academic acumen is anchored by a master’s degree in Aviation and Space Policies and Law and a Ph.D. in Space Sciences, both from the Institute of Aerospace and Space Technologies, complemented by the completion of Command and Staff College in 2024. Recognized with numerous honors, including the Superior Service Award, Col. Yıldız effectively bridges operational leadership with specialized knowledge in space systems and defense procurement, while maintaining fluency in English and basic proficiency in Russian.
