American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) • Senior Director for Space

Natalia Larrea Brito serves as Senior Director for Space at the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), where she provides strategic leadership on the Institute's space initiatives and priorities.

Prior to joining AIAA, she spent nearly a decade at Novaspace, where she served as U.S. Director and advised public and private stakeholders worldwide on space policy, investment and partnership strategy, industry analysis, and emerging trends. She also founded and led Novaspace’s space exploration practice. Her leadership played a key role in shaping strategic decisions for government, industry leaders, and investors across the globe.

Earlier in her career, Natalia served as a Systems Engineer at MDA Corporation in Canada, a Research Associate at NASA Ames Research Center, and a trainee at the European Space Agency (ESA).

Natalia is a frequent international speaker and moderator at premier international forums and a published contributor on global space affairs. She has been recognized with numerous awards, including Santander SW50, Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada, and SSPI Promise Award.

She holds a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from McGill University in Canada, and a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Universidad Alfonso X El Sabio in Spain. She also holds a Diploma in Astronomy and Planetary Science from The Open University and is a graduate of the International Space University, where she served on the faculty and Academic Council.
