Trésor Badisungu is a congolese (DRC) researcher and expert specializing in climate change adaptation and resilience and sustainable development in Africa. He has more than ten years of experience in the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of climate and environmental programs and projects, advocacy, and climate justice at the national and international levels. He collaborates with partners, government institutions, and indigenous and local communities to implement numerous climate-smart and indigenous initiatives and influence relevant policies to contribute to building resilient communities in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Africa. He is the co-founder and Africa coordinator of Climate Change Africa Opportunities (CCAO), a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve and strengthen the resilience of indigenous and local communities to climate change in order to fight poverty, promote climate and environmental justice, environmental protection, biodiversity, and inclusive and resilient management of natural resources in Africa. Climate Change Africa Opportunities (CCAO) has ECOSOC consultative status and is accredited to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), accredited to the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), accredited to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (UNCBD) and accredited to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD).
