Thales Alenia Space ItaliaManager, Space Economy, Observation and Navigation

Master's degree in Physics and Geophysics from the University "La Sapienza" in Rome. After graduation, she continued her studies as a technical/scientific collaborator for the study of thermodynamic models in various applications. She then dedicated three years to software development of new products and since '89 has been working in the space sector, starting her career at Selenia Spazio (now Thales Alenia Space). Over the years, she has held various roles in engineering, management, strategy, and marketing, starting as a Systems Engineer for Remote Sensing for Military, and Civilian customers, and Navigation for the ESA EGNOS program. She served as Project Manager and Program Manager for European, national, and commercial projects. She has been responsible for Satellite Data Exploitation Units, New Initiatives, Business Development for Security, Market Intelligence, EURASIA Commercial Area and Strategic Marketing. She held managerial positions reporting to the CEO of Thales Alenia Space Italy, supporting managerial activities and coordinating the strategic business plan for Observation, Exploration, and Navigation. Today, she focuses on Space Economy for Observation and Navigation as Manager at Thales Alenia Space Italy. Over the years, she has collaborated in national and international teams as an expert in Earth Observation and Security and is currently a member of international committees such as the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) (Security, Earth Observation & GEOSS, Space Economy, and IAAA member for Debris) and actively participates as Chair/Rapporteur at the International Astronautical Congress (IAC). At the national level, she is a member of the National User Forum and leading the technical-scientific committee of the industrial association for Defense AFCEA. She is also collaborating with Defence for the Climate Change strategic issues. She is also the author of multiple technical-scientific publications and in education has provided lectures for the International Master (Italy-Kenya) in Space Mission Design and Management. She currently mentors young graduates in Political, Economic, and Legal Sciences with the aim of introducing them to the increasingly intercultural space arena. In 2018, she was awarded the "Leader" prize by the FIDAPA BPW (Business Professional Women) Italy association, and on May 1, 2022, she was awarded the “Stella al Merito del Lavoro (Maestro del Lavoro)” for singular merits of expertise, industriousness, and morality acquired during the course of her working activity. She passionately dedicates herself to women's rights and since 2015 has been part of the Board of Women In Aerospace Europe (WIA-E) as Communications Director and Chair of the Board. She is currently co-Leader of the WIA-E Rome Local Group which boasts more than 200 members from most Italian regions with a space vocation. Since 2019, she has joined as a member of the FIDAPA BPW (Business Professional Women) Italy association in the historic Rome section, actively participating as a speaker in various seminars to promote STEM subjects. In the 2021-2023 biennium, she was President of her Section and continues to contribute to the international theme of "actions through cooperation.
