François DENEU

François DENEU leads the Ariane 6 launcher system development programme since 2016.

Before, he led the enhanced version of the M51 strategic missile development for Airbus Defence and Space and delivered the French Navy with the initial operational capability of this new weapon system.

Until 2011, he was Director of Missile Defence Programmes of Astrium Space Transportation where he developed business and run contracts for DGA and NATO.

He started his career as aerodynamic engineer, working on Ariane 5 and then re-entry vehicle aerothermal database before leading the team in charge of preparing the future evolution of launchers, including reusable configurations, for ESA, CNES and DLR

François is married and is 58 years old. He is Chevalier dans l’Ordre National du Mérite (French National Order of Merit, Knight) and is a former auditeur of the Institute for Higher National Defence Studies (IHEDN)
