Prof. Xiewen Wen (Sitman) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Associate Director of the University Research Facility in 3D Printing (U3DP).A major theme of Prof. Wen’s work is glass micro- and nano-manufacturing. His team has developed world-leading technologies for high-resolution 3D printing and micro/nano fabrication of fused silica glass, enabling complex glass micro-optics, microfluidic devices, mechanical metamaterials, and high-performance functional components that are difficult or impossible to fabricate using conventional glass processing methods. Prof. Wen is also actively expanding advanced manufacturing technologies into aerospace and commercial space applications.
