SpaceXDirector, Government Program Development

Caitlin Smith is Director of Government Program Development for NASA Advanced Communications and Government Launch at SpaceX based in Washington DC. While currently focused on communications solutions to support Civil Space applications, she led efforts for SpaceX to become the predominant launch provider for the National Security & Intelligence Community as part of the National Security Space Launch (NSSL) program and continues to lead all Government launch opportunities.

Before joining the Program Development team, Caitlin led SpaceX’s Build Reliability Engineering team for Valves across SpaceX vehicles. Prior to SpaceX, Caitlin was a design engineer at GE Aviation and is a graduate of the Edison Engineering Development Program. She holds Bachelors and Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
