Gopi Thotakura is an accomplished aviator, visionary entrepreneur, and humanitarian dedicated to advancing holistic wellness and aviation. As a co-founder of Preserve Life Corp, a globally recognized center for holistic wellness and longevity strategically located near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Gopi integrates cutting-edge medical science with holistic practices to create a distinctive wellness program. His commitment to sustainability is evident in the meticulous design of the wellness campus, where he collaborates with world-renowned design experts and manufacturers of sustainable materials, showcasing his leadership in fostering a health-conscious and environmentally responsible initiative.

Gopi’s journey into aviation and space exploration began in his hometown of Vijayawada, India. He earned his pilot’s license at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University before he was able to drive, marking the beginning of a diverse flying career. Gopi is adept at piloting commercial jets as well as a variety of aircraft, including bush planes, aerobatic planes, seaplanes, gliders, and hot air balloons. His humanitarian spirit shines through his service as a pilot for international medical jets and the United Nations, where he has received multiple commendations for his dedication to saving lives.

Gopi made history as the first Indian civilian astronaut aboard Blue Origin's NS-25 mission underscores his groundbreaking contributions to space exploration, inspiring the next generation of explores. In his historic role, academically, Gopi was also the first Indian senior class president at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Gopi is also the first Indian to be appointed on the Board of Directors of the prestigious Explorers Club in New York City.

Alongside his academic pursuits, he successfully assembled an Aircam aircraft, which showcases his innovative spirit. He recently summited Mt. Kilimanjaro, further exemplifying his adventurous nature. Gopi’s passion for koi breeding has led him to establish Grand Koi in Atlanta, a world class sustainable facility that brings the beauty of Japanese koi culture to the United States, merging his love for nature with his entrepreneurial spirit.

In the realm of aviation, Gopi founded the Aasmaan Foundation in 2015, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering underprivileged students to pursue careers as pilots, air traffic controllers, or aircraft engineers. The foundation has supported over 500 students, helping many achieve their dreams, including the first female helicopter pilot from Maharashtra. His leadership as Chairman has transformed the Institute for Aviators (IFA) in New Delhi into a leading institution, training over 10,000 pilots and providing comprehensive mentorship.

Gopi has pioneered emergency medical rescue operations using jet transport aircraft in the Indian subcontinent, bridging healthcare access to underserved areas. In 2022, he facilitated the entry of Vistajet, the world’s largest private jet operator, to India, orchestrating a successful operation that set new benchmarks in private aviation.

With thousands of flight hours, Gopi is also a test pilot for drones and continues to inspire the next generation through his roles on multiple aviation and space industry boards. His remarkable journey reflects a relentless pursuit of excellence in aviation, wellness, and education, inspiring individuals worldwide to dream big and reach for the stars.
