Marco Antonio Chamon

Brazilian Space Agency (AEB) • President

Graduated in Electrical Engineering from the University of Campinas (Unicamp) in 1984, he obtained a Master’s degree in Space Engineering and Technology from the National Institute for Space Research (INPE) in 1989 and a PhD in Electronics from the École Nationale Supérieure de l’Aéronautique et de l’Espace (SUPAERO) in 1996.

With extensive experience in the space sector, he has held several prominent positions throughout his career. He served as Coordinator of the Scientific Satellite Program at the National Institute for Space Research (INPE), Technology Management Coordinator, Deputy Coordinator of Space Engineering and Technology, and Coordinator of Planning, Budget and Evaluation at the Institute. He also served as Mission Manager for the SABIA-Mar space mission, dedicated to oceanographic studies.

His research has focused on Estimation Theory, the development of GPS navigation systems, and telecommunications systems for space applications. He possesses extensive knowledge and expertise in these fields, contributing to the advancement of space science and technology in Brazil.

As President of the Brazilian Space Agency (AEB), Marco Antonio Chamon is committed to leading and strengthening the AEB’s mission to develop and promote space activities in Brazil. His technical expertise and strategic vision are instrumental in advancing Brazil’s aerospace industry, fostering scientific research, and establishing national and international partnerships that contribute to the growth of the space sector.
