Dmitry BAKANOV

Born October 7, 1985 in Leninsk, Kazakh SSR (now Baikonur, Republic of Kazakhstan) in the family of a test engineer for the ground complex of the reusable space transport system "Energia-Buran", a graduate of the Military Engineering Institute named after A.F. Mozhaisky.

Childhood, school and student years, the beginning of his working career were spent in the city of Leningrad (now St. Petersburg).

In 2007, he graduated from the St. Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance with a degree in economics and entered full-time graduate school, where in 2011 he defended his dissertation for the degree of candidate of economic sciences. His father is a candidate of technical sciences.

In 2006-2008, he worked in various positions in the banking sector. In 2008-2011, he worked as a specialist in the internal control and audit department, head of the procurement department of Sitronics JSC. In 2011-2019, he worked as president, and then CEO of the Gonets Satellite System company. In 2019-2025, he worked as director of the digital transformation department, and since 2022, as deputy minister of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation. In 2023, he became chairman of the board of directors of GLONASS JSC.

On February 6, 2025, he was appointed CEO of the Roscosmos State Corporation.

He was awarded the Order of Friendship, the medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" II degree, departmental awards.
