Max Haot

Vast • CEO

As CEO of Vast, Max Haot leads a growing team of more than 600 team members in developing humanity’s next-generation space stations and pioneering the path to long-term living and thriving in space. Under Haot’s leadership, the US-based space habitation company is set to launch Haven-1, the world’s first commercial space station and home to its first commercial crewed microgravity research, development, and manufacturing platform. Vast is also building Haven-2, the proposed successor to the International Space Station (ISS), and serving NASA’s Commercial LEO Destinations (CLD) program. Haot joined Vast in February 2023, following Vast’s acquisition of Launcher, the aerospace company he founded. This strategic move by Vast’s founder, Jed McCaleb, aimed to accelerate the company’s growth and position Haot as a key leader in its mission to revolutionize space habitation. Haot is an aerospace, consumer electronics, and internet entrepreneur. He has founded, scaled, and successfully sold four companies, including Launcher (acquired by Vast), Mevo (acquired by Logitech), and Livestream (acquired by IAC/Vimeo).
